Resilience over happiness 1

Should happiness really be the goal? Find out what’s possible when you deliberately get uncomfortable in life.

No-one gets to live without some adversity, sadness, stress or difficulty. Realistically, a permanent state of happiness is not a smart goal; happiness is achievable only in transitory ways. Resilience is a different story, however, and what we know is that emotionally resilient people are happier people. It makes sense then that if we want more happiness in our life, we are better off building our resilience – we’ll bounce back faster and better from adversity and have more time ‘up’ in our happy zone and less time ‘down’ in our sad or stressed zone.

This session is therefore about building resilience rather than trying to achieve a state of happiness. You’ll learn about what you can do, in both good and bad situations, and how to maintain a healthy mindset, leverage your strengths and be proactive in creating your own version of happiness. The recent disruption of the pandemic has challenged us all and pushed us beyond our preferred state of control, comfort and complacency. Some have risen to the challenge whilst others have floundered. What we are clear about as coaches is that life does not necessarily get easier, rather, we get stronger as we learn to pick ourselves up and resolutely move forward. The best learning happens when we are stretched beyond what is easy. The people you most respect in your life and the people who create the most inspiration in the world, are those who are resilient. Are you ready to build your resilience? Resilience over happiness is available as a:

  • 90 minute masterclass
  • 4 hour workshop
  • breakout conference sessions online or in the room
  • keynote presentation or speech
